Chloe Aliyanni is a Greek choreographer based in London. She makes both theatre-based and site sensitive work at the heart of which lies the relationship between movement, music, light and space. Her approach to dance making is influenced by the sounds, myths and rituals of her greek heritage, her contemporary dance and visual arts background as well as the desire to look beyond the individual and into our collective unconscious and shared origins.

Aim is to create accessible and thoughtful dance performances, looking for original movement vocabulary, sound and set design and to challenge what dance and movement can communicate without the use of text. Themes are drawn from our interaction with each other, the natural world, the unknown, instinctive and mysterious. A commitment to simplicity of form and raw physicality as well as close collaborations with artists from different disciplines are integral to the creative process.

Chloe has trained as a dancer at the Athens State School of Dance, Amsterdam School of the Arts and Trinity Laban Conservatoire (MA Choreography). Past work has been presented at the Robin Howard Theatre (The Place), King's Place, Athens Video Dance Project, Blue Elephant Theatre,The Truman Brewery and Laban Bonnie Bird Theatre.
